i need some info on lowering a ranger edge 2002, 2 wheel drive. i found a kit used for 98 up ranger but not sure if it will work. what do you need to lower one? is it the same as regular rangers?

They are totally different...you need control arms, not I-beams

Tell him to just buy a different truck, lol. The ranger edges run torsion bars, which is easy to lower, just crank the torsions. However the engine crossmember hangs 4" below the frame so it's going to snag on everything.

I guess if you just want to lower it, then it would be ok, I've seen quite a few lowered edges, but if he ever wants to bag the truck he might as well give up now.

btw, I keep saying he since you don't have an edge in your profile.

you need a 2wd frame...

the kit i found for him used has upper and lower control arms and springs for front and a flip kit for back. best i can tell, it is a 4-5 inch drop. will this work?? says it is for 98 up ranger.

no it wont work, the uppers will and the flip kit will but you will need new shocks for the rear since factory is to long. take the torsion keys out, grind the hump flat and re countersink the hole for the bolt to fit in, get shorter bolts, and flip them over, instant 5 in drop.( you have to take off the bumpstop and cut the mount off also)
