well i finally got under the truck to take a look at it... i checked the wiring from the fuel pump to the ground and everything seemed ok... the only thing i noticed was that there's what looks like a ground wire connected to the back of the filler neck that wasn't connected to anything... im not sure what this is for or if it's even a ground or anything i need to worry about...

tcsxtremeison22s, that is a ground wire to prevent a fire from static electricity when filling your tank. Not the problem but I would re-attach it though.

pull it out of the tank and see if the tube came off of it. thats what happend to my dads and it sounds like the same kinda problem

the 8th digit in the vin is the engine size but most parts houses will need the vin because they have to have that for everything

all you gotta do is check your fuel pressure to see if its your pump or not.
