Extra Fuel tank?

Guilty how did you plumb in an extra fuel tank on your dually? I have a 100 or so gal fuel tank off a Peterbuilt and I'd like to figure out how to plumb it into my system. I already have 2 tanks but I could unhook one of them and use this big one but my problem is the in tank fuel pump. My truck is fuel injected and I dunno how I'd be able to make an in tank fuel pump work inside this huge ass tank.. Anyone have any idera's on how to make it work? Or better yet how did you guys with an add on tank make it work?

my grandfather has a extra tank on his ford dually and what he did was have a internal pump that pumped into his main tank, so when he got to about a 1/4 tank he would turn on the pump and fill up the main tank and never have to stop ...

if you mount the bigger tank in the bed you might get a problem with fuel pooring out the maintanks fillerneck you going to need a valve of somekind and have some auto shutoff for when the maintank is full maube you can get someting working of the fuellevelfloat

that is how my grandfathers is done going from tank in bed to the filler neck on his truck sealed off just weatch the guage when it is filling up his pumps at a rate of 3 gallons per minute so it takes a bit to pump 30 gallons to his main tank from his 50 gallon reserve... but damn he will drive almost a 1400 miles before he has to fill up both tanks.. he gets about 18 with his camper hooked up 36ft 5th wheel... ...

adding that 100 gal. tank you can fill it up in new mexico and then you won't have to buy that shit gas in arizona or california

JUst have the bed tank gravity feed the under bed tank? or would I have to have another fuel pump and try to T it in my existing fuel system? I dunno how I could get all that to work.

that looks like you would still have to get out and manuly open the valve

if you put a fuel line from your tank in the bed to a Tee in your overflow line on your filler neck (put the tee close to the tank) and put an 12v valve in line then you could fill as your going down the road just watch you gauge once the tank is full shut it off

from what I understand that ball valve is to shut off if you don't wanna use the reserve tank. Only way it would work is if you were sure your gascap sealed. If it's a vented cap it would never work.

that is what i am talking about just have a 12v pump pump from tank bed to under side bed.. and just watch guage, it takes myt granfateher bout 10 minutes to fill his tank that way when he turn on the pump

The way mine is hooked up is its got an inline elect pump that sucks gas out of the aux tank and fills the main tank through the vent tube for the main tank, its just got a T fitting in the main tank vent line.
