Ok I keep running into problems ...I am using a rather high quality high build primer on my suicide hinges and other areas...I than sand dry with 400 very lightly except on corners and such I go right through the primer to the metal ... I am trying not to put any pressure ..what should I do?? ... I also used self etching on the metal first off...
I did 2 coats...so I sanded it down and did 3/4 now
fuck primein your hinges strip them back down to metal use a epoxy sealer you can apply your base coat over that with out sanding it....
por15 the hinges black? that would look dope IMO
thats normal. hi crown, hi spots and edges ALWAYS sand fastert then others.
as james said, the crowns will sand much faster than the lows, Just pound on a good 4 coats, and you should be good. High quality 2k isnt always high building. I spray a high production primer at work, that air drys in 40 minutes, but its a 3-1 ratio. Some of the cheeper primers can be 4-1, so you are able to get a bit better build off of them.
even if you do go through you can just spray alittle etch on the metal before you seal and base it will be ok
