i know there was a topic on this already in the past but i did a search and didn't find anything. I remember seeing some pics of people running their frames under their rearends and wanted to see them and also what are the pros and cons of doing this.

You know I was actually thinking about this today while doing some valentine's shopping. I am not sure what the pro could possibly be other then saving space and if you really got to ask what a con could be then your not thinking to much about it. You wouldn't get very much lift out of it now would ya?

theres alot of frames done like that..., and quite a few threads allready also.

for instance, the "project isabella" thread has a frame like that

the little shop blazer is done like that also

and there is another thread floatin around with a old body s10 with a frame like that.

well i like the look of it it not done all that offen, cons of it being limited amounts of lift and a lot harder to setup a 4 link with the correct geometry

If your running big wheels, say 22's and up you should get plenty of travel. And you could save a bit of floor space on suv's and cars with frames. Plus you get to drag FULL frame.

the only drawback I see is having to raise the rear first, or both front and rear at the same time, because it will rock back on the frame and stress the rear clip if you raise the front first. You can catch the rear of your frame on stuff too if you like to roll lower in the back and higher in the front.

oh and some trucks have an upkick to the rear bodywork, so if you build the frame stright out the back you will see it under the rollpan.

it does save a bit of floor space, and with 22"s we get plenty of lift... and I plan on dragging the shit out of it later on -- the 3"x3" in the very back (tucked in nice and tight behind the rollpan, unseen) is reinforced to get abused. And don't hate on the lack of strength in the chassis pic, its all been beefed up since that pic (which was back in 04 lol)

look at DRGNDAWG profile, i built that truck back in 98, i had the same crazy idea, so i just did it. for awhile people said mine was the only one like that but i had only seen a couple after i built it. it rode awsome, even pulled 3 wheel with bags. and you could lift the front first without hiting the rollpan.
