My daily is an `01 x-cab S10 with a 3/4 drop using coils (not cut ones) and 4" blocks. I'm wanting to go lower. I have 2" drop spindles and a 3" leaf pack coming for a total of a 5/7 drop. My tire combo is 205/55/16 (front) and 235/55/16 (back). Now my concern is should it be fairly level or should I go back to a 3" block for a 5/6 drop? Also, I'm replacing all shocks, ditching the swaybar, cutting the bumpstops, and replacing the carrier bearing x member. Is there anything I should be aware of? Problem areas? Is anyone running anything close to this? With S10's running 20's, I don't figure 16's will be too much problem. (I hope)

You'll have to remove the bumpstop bracket from above the axle, and you would be wise to install a bolt in notch as well for extra clearance, otherwise you'll hear the axle smacking the frame quite a bit.

I would keep the sway bar, since if it doesn't interfere with anything now, it won't once you put the spindles on. Plus, it will keep your current ride quality, which will degrade if you ditch it.

AND KEEP IN MIND THEN WHEN U DRIVE IT EVERY DRIVEWAY PARKING ENTRANCE SPEED BUMP U NEED TO CREEP OVER. MAY NOT BE WORTH IT...

yeah i would definetly keep the sway bar. check the pinion angle and make sure its not off otherwise you will have a vibration in the tranny.

you are also going to have to remove the inner fender wells or you are going to rub the tire on the bolt top dead center of the inner fender. also the bed has a lower point on the fender than the front does so it will look lower anyway

He won't need to remove the wheel wells up front. I drive a bagged truck with the same overall diameter tire and I can ride with the frame 2" from the ground without hitting the wheel wells during daily driving. This guy won't even come close to that with his drop.

mine has spacers between the trans mission and the career bearing the drive line needed shortened as well and the drive line hit the cab a bit. The axle hit the frame and need a c notch and the front passenger side wheel hit some thing when turning and wore a groove in the wheel. You might want to raise your gas tank and cross over pipe for your exast. I almost drug thru both on speed bumps and drive ways.

you might want to go down to a 40 or 45 series tire in the front so it will clear the fender when you turn. Insted of cutting the bump stops you could cut the hump off of the lower A arm and fill it in with a piece of flat stock.

I ran a 5/7 on mine w/ 18" wheels prior to bagging it. No notch in the rear, just stiff shocks. Kept sway bar, removed bump stops. It was fine, had the occasional front tire scrub on big dips on the road. Oh, and yes, CREEP over speed bumps!
