Who has a Silverado with KP Component Cantelever System? Do you have wheel hop? How did you correct it?

One thread usually works.

they are engineered pretty well...check your pinion angle

i may call kp with a question like that...

Wheel hop can be caused by several different things. The height of the system (instant center too high or too low) too stiff too soft or blown shocks, poor shock placement, poor bag placement even a wheel/tire combo that is too heavy. It's really hard to say, I would call them and see what they have to say.

we put the watts link set-up on one i did for a customer and have never had any problems, also make sure everything is set-up at ride height

I agree that KP has a very well engineered system. I have talked to KP in the past they suggested an adjustable shock. I am not wanting to spend the money on it until I know that is the answer for the problem. I have no problem droping the money on it.

I have had different wheel and tire combonations. Tried different shocks.

I put blocks in the front of my truck tires to prevent it from moving because I have a manual transmission I am doing this in the shop while someone else is gasing I am trying to watch suspension flex the pinoin seems to climb 1-2" just as it would with a leaf spring. This is making me think that the bushings are acting similar to the leaf springs and then snaps back giving me wheel hop.

I have been searching on forums and came accrossed a S-10 forum and half of the guys had wheelhop with the same system and half didn't. Maybe there is just a fine line on bushings.

a friend of mine had a wheel hop problem and used the watts link and it fixed it

his cousin used adjustable shocks and it fixed it

both of these boys had their truck bagged professionaly by the same shop in florida

I can't see how a watts link would cure wheel hop. There must be something else being changed while instlling the watts link that is curing the issue. If you are getting as much flex out of the bushings that you say you are, I would probably start there. Does the wheel hop happen at different ride heights?
