There's alot of different ways to do it. If you have a really really level slab it will be alot easier. Me myself I would put it on my frame table. If you have a level slab I would lay it out. Jack up the rear of the frame until the frame is level to the slab. First you want to unbolt the transmission and raise it how ever much your zing it. Hopefully you already have a new trans crossmember made. I would brace the part were the motor is really well. Cut the frame, let eveything drop even with the slab then line the frame up evenly and weld it. It alot more involved than that put you get the idea. Just make sure you have a totally level surface. Also make sure the cuts on the frame are totally strait. So when the frame drops it drops strait down. That's how I would z it on my frame table. Or on a level slab, if I didn't have a table. I might be wrong. I did it the hard way and rebuilt the front crossmembers, raised motor, raised rack and pinion, and it was very hard to do. Ecspecially while laying on you back welding it all up. It sucked. But well worth it when it lays true rail.
