firewall cutting for the bodydrop

What are my options for cutting the firewall. I have to keep the tranny tunnel at the same height because I am running a 4l60e and the way that I mounted it it's pretty tight ( ground clearance) so I was thinking cutting right along under the pinch mold on the firewall?
