What should I go with for epoxy primer...

Im lookin at either HOK KD2000, or something by dupont. I really want to go with HOK though. My next question is...where can I get rage gold? I want to either use that or evercoat for any filling that needs to be done.

What PRIMER should I use as well? Im guessing over bondo and all, I should use a polyester primer, but if I go HOK, which one? dupont?

I am spraying hot rod flatz for now as well, as I don't want anything "shiny" before final paint.

also, if im spraying just my engine bay..is a quart of epoxy, a quart of top coat primer, and a quart of the color top coat enough?

A quart was enough to do my engien bay. I have half a quart of color left, or about. Almost used all the clear though. Did the dash and stuff too though.

cool Seth. Im just looking to do the engine bay/core support. Looking to use that hotrod flatz, but have you seen/heard anyone talk about the metallic kind? Im kind of between that and normal because the color I want is the metallic kind, but the normal would be easier to patch incase I needed to.

Rage is a good lightweight body filler, i used to use it at the other bodyshop i worked at it was verry easy to sand and held up verry well, we aso use a filler calle Platinum filler. it is also a good filler. both are sold at PPG and sherwin williams paint stores i know and run about 30 bucks a gallon, the evercoat putty is about 20 bucks a quart and is also sold at most automotive paint stores...as of house of colors I cant be any help cause ive never sprayed them...

I heard its harder to spray without looking streaky. I bought a solid color.

i know primer can absorb water and all that crap, but if we will be driving it this summer, would it be okay to just spray the epoxy for now? I really want to get started on the frame...

i never like leaving anything in primer only for the fact it doesn't have any protection from moisture or uv's if anything i would just single stage it so you just have to come back and block the area when you're ready to paint
