i have no idea what to do

ok so heres my prob. my 91 chevy isnt starting. i checked the starter and its fine. earlier it seemed like it was out of gas but finally turned over. Now the starter isnt even turning... i had the starter tested and its perfect, Its a 350tbi.

i was thinking of taking it to a shop since i have no idea what is going on with it. but where should i take it? just your average shop like the sears automotive? i have never taken my vehicles places to get shit done so i have no idea....

any odd noises? u got oil in it? Drop the starter, take out the plugs and see if the flywheel turns.

fuel pump coming on??

no Sears, they suck

pull out one of the plugs and see if its wet...could have some fouled out plugs...I hope u didnt burn up the starter or solenoid trying to crank it so many times..

ok check it out here is everything that has been happening.....
first it wouldnt start. clicking noise like the starter, pulled out the starter, had it checked. it was fine. re-tightened all the bolts\wires on starter. Started right up. Today i am at the mall and i am leaving and it sounds like its not getting gas. so i crank for no more than 10 seconds and it fires up. I go grab movies, come out and its doing the clicking sound instead of starting again. i try a couple times still nothing. i go under the hood and wiggle the wires to see if it helps and still nothing. then all of a sudden there is a pop and a small amount of smoke from inside the fender??? like a wire popped or something i dunno.

anyone ever go to the firestone car repair place? since apparently sears sucks.

and what do i say when i take it in? that it wont start and i know its not the starter? i feel like a dipshit because i always work on my stuff yet this time i am stumped

plenty of oil. dont know about the fuel pump but its not even turning over right now, no odd noises...

sound like you have a loose connection or a fucked up seoiniod, Cant spell it, but im in Hot springs Arkansas and all the little reapair shops seem better than our Sears auto center,

Pootus,by what you say you seen smoke on the passanger side of the firewall there should be a cover that covers something like a terminal strip with wires going to it.there wire there called a fuseable link sounds like that wire melted.my 91 did the samething
