WHAT ARE THE RIGHT STEPS TO START SANDING DOWN MY TRUCK
jhoz   +1y
how far down do you want to sand to. if you want it down to bare metal grind it off. it all depends on what yout trying to do!

i wouldnt just GRIND it off...not with a big grinder anyways haha. They have stripping wheels made for doing just that, removing all paint. Sort of expensive, but does't thrash on your metal.

yeah you need to be a little more specific on what your trying to do

I WANT TO REPRIMER. .THE GUY DID A CRAPY JOB ON IT .SO I WANT TO DO IT RIGHT

if your going to re prime it, I'd just buzz it with your DA with some 240 or something. But you will have to primer over all the 240 scratches. If your spot priming then 320 the area around the primer.

you have to worry about "mil" thickness, which is how much material is on the truck. the more material you have on the truck the more problems your going to have later on! i guess your could just scuff the primer with a red scotchbrite pad and lay a better coat of primer down if you dont want to spend the $ on sandpaper etc.

block the truck down with 150 grit, make sure its straight, then lay down a few coats of good primer. There are too many variables amd your not being very specific. do you give a shit how the bodywork looks??? what kind of paint job is it??? is it base clear, single stage??? u have to be a lil more specific, do you want it to come out right???? or are u just gonna rattlecan primer it????
