I have a 1988 Mazda B2200, everything on it has been redone, full air ride, custom paint/interior. The motor was left alone so everything else could be completed. Just recently, it has been having tons of problems, and I'm needing help finding a good replacement motor. One, will a Ford G64 Motor, swap into it with little problem? Or, a Fiero motor, or should I just replace it with a newer year rebuildable engine? Please help, any responses would be great, thanks.

You should definately consider some type of f block swap- either from a 626/ mx6 or a kia sportage.

The motors you mentioned above will require different transmissions, custom trans and motor mounts, custom driveshafts, etc etc...
TOOOOO Much trouble!

The b2200 can be hopped up with a pacesetter and webber carb- and rebuild kits are cheap and easy. The webber carB wll eliminate all of the emissions devices and factory feedback computer, and a pacesetter will eliminate all of the smog return tubes and restrictive charcoal box.

Fuel injection is the way to go in my opinion- megasquirt standalone fuel management systems are the shit-

I have the FE3 dohc 16 valve mazda motor in my truck- bolts up to everything- and it's fuel injected. megasquirted

I have a bongo 12 valve sohc 1.8 motor in another one of my trucks- it's fuel injected with a dist. megasquirted

I also have a regular b2000 motor that I will use a stock b2200 fuel injection intake manifold on, with megasquirt

will these motors bolt up to the stock tranny, or will we have to swap it out also? Wanna do this as quickly and efficiently as possible. (I'm "Lowrnu's" dad) We built this truck together and are gettin really tired of working on it all the time. thanks!!

These motors= 626 or kia sportge engines that I spoke off , is that what you are refering to?

If so- yes they will bolt right into the truck- but they are fuel injected, and the trucks are carbed- most of them. Unless you are really good and can find a completely swap a wiring harness and computer from a kia sportage(which are junk) or another mazda- standalone is your best bet, not for the faint at heart- but doable I'd say- as long as you are somewhat familar with engines and modern fuel injection.
