alright, I have a 2000 chevy astro, bagged, bridge notch 4 link relocated gas tank bla bla bla... the point is, the next lowest point on my van other than the tranny crossmember is the oil pan bolt.. this is not a good thing.

I just changed my oil and I had to change the bolt too because it was all tore up. Is there anything I can do? The oil pan is cast aluminum so I can't cut it and re-weld it higher up...any ideas?

I went out and got an oil pan from a Blazer. You need to get the oil pickup tube and everything while your there. Its alot shorter, prolly around 3 inches. Just a quick bit of info from the GM interchangability world.

if its just the bolt and not the pan then just replace the bolt with one of those alan head bolts that would be flush when its tight. just an easy idea.

That would help but the pan itself is really low too. I'll probably do that until I get a pan from a blazer like Jon Wright suggested.

That's awesome, 3 inches shorter. That sounds like exactly what I want to do. So I need a blazer oil pan, pick up tube and what else? and does it matter what year blazer? vortec/non-vortec? thanks a lot for the help,-James
