is it schedule 40 tubing?

yes, besides thepipe having a seam and tubing being seamless I don't see a difference, the only real difference is the tolerence to the ID and OD of the pipe vs tubing, would I ever make link bars or unsupported or untriangulated bars out of pipe? No

i heard the welding that pipe make the weld point very brittle, That is why they use the DOM. just was wondering if that was true or not

IN GENERAL

It's the carbon content of steel that dictates it's weldability.
Carbon content is the last two numbers of the steel type. 1020 = 0.20% carbon.
Usualy no trouble to weld up to 0.30% carbon.

The higher the carbon the worse (harder) it is to weld. But carbon adds strength (hardness) to the steel also.

For weldability
Dom (Which ranges from 1020 to 1026)and pipe (which ranges from 1008 to 1010) does'nt matter. It's the steel type they are made out of.

DOM would be a stronger material based on what it is made out of.

Oh.. and DOM is also electro welded pipe just like sched 40. It is just that DOM has a tighter tolerance and has the flashing removed in the manufacturing process.

Sorry for the long winded explination...
