maybe in the front but not in the back. It will hit the bedsides. 4.5 bs is only +12 offset, no way no way no way.
My Denalis with a 24.5" tall tire barely touch the bedsides when layed out. I added about a 1/4" to their BS, then did the math to figure out the BS needed on a 7" wide wheel. Sure, it'd still be close to the bedside, but I think too much BS doesn't look good. He asked what would tuck, not what would tuck with a mile clearance.
nope. you calculated wrong, a 7 inch wide wheel is actually 8 inches wide. Backspace on every wheel made in the entire world is calculated with this understanding. If you add that extra inch to your calculation (you cant add it to the frontspace, now can you?), and subtract the 1/4 inch you added for safety, you get that a 5.25 backspace will tuck on a 7 inch wide wheel. Exactly what was stated. 4.5 backspace 7 inch wide will chew fenders up. Now a 4.5 inch backspace will work great on a 6 inch wide rim, because its actually 7 inches wide.
Sorry, you just didnt know. Actually I know about the extra 1" wheel width for the mounting lips, thank you. The problem came from me doing all the math in my head. I just redid it on paper, and realized what I added wrong. It had nothing to do with the extra wheel width. So sorry to the poster, you would need 5-5.25" BS on a 7" wheel.
