How do you get the torsion bars out of an 88 mazda when all the bolts are rusted solid? I tried cutting the big bolt off the front and hitting it towards the back, but nothing moved.
they are bolted to the lower control arm they do not go through it so the bolt on the front is for your lower control arm like "tuknrail" said just torch the torsion or the head of the two bolts that are holding it to the lower control arm if you are planning on using them again just heat them good with a torch then try to back them out.
they are not going back on, and I cut through the threaded part and nut, and also through the bar a few inches behind the arm. Nothing is moving anywhere front to back.
