with a v6 silverado, if I ain't gonna be towing anything and just gonna be driving it on a daily, what's the downside to having a V-6? i know it ain't gonna have the power of a v-8, but just curious befor a i spend a bunch of money on one. looking for a 99-02 or so, to bag and put some 22's possibly and just drive it. biggest I would tow would maybe be a motorcycle trailor or small boat?

chevy makes a 4.8 v8 and a 5.3, i use the 4.8 and it is pretty much between towing good and descent gas mileage while not towing. dont bother with the v6, chevy makes a shitty one anyway.

Ahh yeah chevys v6 is used in stock car racing But, to get to the point, get a V8 the gas difference is 3 to 5 gallons...

The 4.3L V6 isn't considered as dependable for the fullsize truck. It's more wear and tear on the truck for the weight and desired movement.

The V8 to me is a more reliable engine. And you're only seeing a minimal fuel decrease from it.

What you will find though, is a significant discount for the 4.3...
