Hey does anyone out there know what you have to do to get a 73-87 chevy 1/2 ton to lay frame, and if changing the body mounts out for a s 10 body mounts will lower the body down as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Drop spindles, and sectioned front crossmember or Z'd frame.

I have done 2 in the pass 6 months and I can tell you that there is definately some money involved. Get tubular lowers. since the lowest part of the frame is only about 14 inches long your going to have a problem with it laying flat, it will be more cali style than flat. I cut the bottom part of the frame out and welded in a 42" long peice of 2x4 square tubing. It will lay flat like this and you also have something sturdy to drag on. If done correctly it will put your pinch 3 1/4 inches off the ground and lay flat. Your also going to have to make a trany cross member because that drops down about an inch lower than the rails. When layed out on frame my control arms were about 1/2 inch off the ground. Pics should be uploaded tomorrow.
