full skin combos

ok i am ready to weld my skin on my truck, and i got few questions for anybody that could help! are you leaving the tailgate it self without the skins on the tailgate, this in hope of helping line up the skin and for reinforcement or just line up the skin tack welding it and reinforce from the inside?

one by tubing from bedside to bedside top middle and bottom weld the edges from skin to bedsides cross brace the tubing do not get in a hurry (warping) weld or seam seal the cross bracing to the skin, u can go to a sheet metal shop and get a inner skin made for tailigt access or weld it up also hope this helps

thank you guys for the input and that install guide is great. but i am still wondering if u can use the tailgate a so to so deskin the front and the back of the tailgate and put the full skin over and actually weld the guts of the tailgate too the skin?

are u just puting a tailgate skin on or a cali combo(tailgate skin and roll pan) if u are just reskinning the tailgate to make it still open yea u can do that just cut the old skin off (grind the edges off the tailgate) place the new one on by crimping the edges tack weld it and seam seal, i have seen a silverado with a cali combo that still opened from left to right think it was from japan in a streettrucks probably 5-6 years ago
