accord trans

hey wanting to know what's the deal with my transmission...my fluid was low and i filled it up but now it wont shift out of 2nd gear...it will maybe once every 2-3 weeks...it was over filled a little bit...talk to some people askin them about it and they said i basically cant do nuttin bout it cause it has like 217,000 miles on it...if there's anything i can do let me know...just need someone's knowledge cause i dunno

anyone know somethin....please i need the help...this is my only sorce of transportation

Chris I have good news and bad news. The good news is you have probobly heard already hondas will last "forever" this is true if the vehicle has been properly maintained. From the sounds of it this car has had its fair share of tlc concidering the 217000 miles . The bad news is once a part has failed in the honda tranny you can eighther rebuild it or replace it. As far as little things you can try,the manuf. recomend you change the shift solenoids and completly flush the tranny buy in my exspereince you would be wasting your time and money cause it never would fix the problem.
