i need help fast thanks

i have a chevy dually with a 454 i want to paint the block red nothing fancy is my daily driver i want to paint it a lil and put some chrome on it so whats the best way to do this like prep and all so it lasts ima take the accesories out and tbi unit and then paint also is that spray enamel good thanks

i would say if your going to dis assemble the engine and rebuild it- any automotive machicine shop can dip the engine and heads and that will clean off all the gunk..

but if your not going to take it apart, i would say just scrap off all the crap, and then wire brush it really well, then paint it..

as far as what kind of paint to use, i use the engine paint that u buy at autozone, and it has never chipped of or anything for me

I like VHT brand paints. Little nicer than the duplicolor engine paint.

I have also seen people shoot the block with single stage paint in a gun that isnt high temp and it turns out sweet. Never burns off or discolors.

but i dont have to sand the block??
