poishing bumper

i just picked up a 91 b2200, and just wondering if any of you guys have any tips on poishing the chrome bumper and grill on it, grill has faded a bit im sure bit of polish will take it off, and bumper has suface rust spots, whats best way to get rid of those rust spots without damaging or scratching up the bumper? or would polishing it take it off?

seriously, use Coca-Cola and tinfoil. It should take off the rust with no damage to the chrome. I did my old Schwinn bike with it and it looks pretty damn good.
