get a weber carb and a pacesetter header. Anything more than that might give you a little bit more power, but seriously, it only has 86hp stock, even if you DOUBLE IT, you only have about 170. And you arent going to double it, a turbo will give you maybe 50 hp relaibly.

If you really want to go fast, talk to madlowmazda, he has been swapping all kinds of cool stuff into mazdas. Like the 2 liter Kia motor, it bolts in (if you convert to efi) and has 145hp stock. Or his 1.8l JDM bongo motor swap. He really is crazy, but not the "throws cats at you" or "takes his pants off at the food court" kind of crazy, the good kind.

If you look around on the net there is tons of info like the KIA swap. You just have to do allot of research on what you want to do.

i bought my 32/36 weber off of ebay. $315. I got my header from truckperformance.com. I bought the coated header b/c i heard all kinds of bad things about the black ones. Also, when you remove the stock carb you can get rid of all the nastyness of vacuum line hellness.
