Any help or tips on changing the carrier bearing on a single cab mazda? I was told it has had 3 bearings in the last 5 years mainly due to the rear setup. I have never changed one and was just wanting to see if i should attempt it or have a shop do it. Thanks!

the U joints in that drive line have to be pressed out and some times that bearing has to be pressed off too. and you cant get that bearing off unless you split that driveline at the center U joints. i would c if you can get a greesable (zirk) carrier bearing. and new U joints of course, get all parts then take it to machine shop

Certain Mazdas don't have replaceable u joints you'll end up having to get a driveshaft and there expensive. As for the carrier going bad have you ever checked the pinion angle? If it has a four link adjust it to where the most common drive heights the pinion angle is correct and the problem should go away. If you don't have a four link I would advise getting one it will help a lot get rid of vibrations and wear and tear.
