today my 01 tahoe started leaking gas pretty bad. only when it is running though.
does anyone know what this is? it looks like a fuel line and wiring harness conects to it. its above the rear diff next to the tank. thanks

Looks like the EVAP canister vent solenoid.

If so this is the valve that allows fresh airflow into the EVAP canister.

This solenoid is normaly open. The PCM closes the valve for some tests at certain times. Mainly to make sure there are no airleaks.

There should not be any raw gas in the EVAP canister.

Did you overfill the gas tank recently?

i got gas thursday but today is the first time it has done it. i had been parked on a hill when i noticed it though. now it seems to have stopped. so i dont know what he!! it is
