ART Shockwaves

Im thinking of running Air Ride Technologies SKW9007's in my truck, similar to the ones in that Toyota Stout from Japan. Just wondering if anyone on here has run them before or knows of any links or pics of them being used in a mini. Im keen on using the adjustable compression and rebound ones so i can fine tune the ride to get it as nice as possible. Any feedback would be cool. Thanks.

I have taken them out of a few trucks.. They were destroyed with daily driving, but they sure do look pretty.

What destroys them?

i dunno, just don't seem they wear out after about a year of daily abuse. The ones i took out were in the front of S10s.

I used them on the Datsun on my profile. I'm not really that impressed with them considering the cost. They are a perfect bolt on part for a finished hot rod that wants to convert to air ride and doesn't want to cut anything up. But I don't think that I would design around them. Good idea, cheap shock, too much $...

Thanks man, i trust your opinion. Yeah there not cheap thats for sure. We normally use Slams in all the trucks we build but just wanted to maybe try something abit different and see how it went, but im not going to spend the money if theres a good chance they will dissapoint. I mainly liked the fact that you could do away with having to relocate your front shock and i also liked the sound of the adjusters on the shock option aswell. Oh well, ill keep my $1800 and stick with good old Slam Bags.

If you are looking for some performance shocks, I have been using RCD Classics for Bilstien shocks. Steve Duck over there is really knowlegeable and will take good care of you if you tell him that I sent you (619)328-5401 x109.

The bitchin' part is that if you want a stiffer or softer shock there are several different valving options in the same shock body. We just recently built a truck that the rear shock ended up being too soft and I just had him send me a stiffer shock and bolted it right in. Awesome!

There are 6 daily driven 4x4 trucks here in the seattle area that I have bagged with shockwaves and the only problem I have had with them is that the trucks are a bit heavy and kill the upper bushing but they have a fix for that. I've also done them in at least 5 magnums or 300s around here with no real crazy issues an IS300 and 2 GSs. I fully trust them as long as they don't have any type of side load or binding they will last.

Jay, I agree with you... I am just not very impressed with the quality of the part for the price. If they had a better shock or maybe cost less, I would be more apt to suggest them to people. I can see how they would be an advantage for what you do though.
