when i bagged my truck, i cut the stock gas tank xmember up to the seam to raise the back of the gas tank. Will the one from sd.com raise it any higher? I already have the sd.com xmember, but if it won't raise it any higher, i'm not messing with yanking the bed and everything, and i'll try to sell it.

It probably wont raise it much higher but it will clean it up and clear your driveshaft.

ok, that's kinda wierd, the driveshaft is cleared already. I'm all for a cleaner look, though. thanks for the info.

i have it on mine, the only problem we ran into was that it seems to make it to where you can only drag the rear. The front of the gas tank still sits at its stock height. But aside from that it did seem to clean it up quite a bit

You need to raise the front bracket as well. If you only raise the back all it does is tip the tank forward making the tank LOWER than stock at the front. You should be able to raise the front mount 3/4" to 1" by redrilling the holes and maybe trimming the bracket a bit.

The directions for the x-member say to drill new holes and raise the front to.

when i got my raised gas tank crossmember there were no directions- but yah i just re-drilled the holes for the front bracket..
and raided the front bracket about inch and a half
