fixin to z truck 3 inches and trim 1.5 inches off of frame under cab to lay it on rockers. wanting to see pics of this done seen one guy use angle iron 1/4x3x3 and that dont seem safe whats the best thing to use pics would be great thanks

You don't need a 3" Z. 2 1/2" Z and you will be laying flat. I layed in new some 2x4 3/316 inside the frame rails weld it up and cut off the top what is not needed and you will be good. Some guys have used 2x3 and thats fine.

you mean cut off bottom of original frame right. for instance take 2x4 box tubing and but it up to the top of frame rail and cut bottom off

no u cut off the top cause ut tranny crosmember is bolted 2 the bottom

this is how this guy done it i plan on building a new trans tunnel and also trans mount but the angle iron and the way he did it had to weaken the frame. check out link and tell me what you think
