Hey guys and gals. My girlfriend has a 95 s10 blazer and she noticed the oil gauge jumping and going nuts. I checked the oil and it was low obviously. It was low roughly 3 to 3.5 quarts. Well it did it again and there was no or very little oil in the motor. She took it to her mechanic and he has determined that the radiator has a good bit of oil in it. I know if there is water in the motor, the head gasket is gone = $$$, but anyone know what this could be? I've already checked the oil cooler and that isn't it. Anyone know or have had this problem? Thanks in advance!

whats the temp guage looking like??

Could be a crack in the intake manifold. Oil sits in the valley and coolant run through the manifold. It's a thought. Sounds like it needs a teardown to me though.

the oil cooler is in the radiator on my 2000 sonoma maybee it is on your blazer and it cracked internally or somthing.

it deff sounds like a head gasket but it could also be the cooler if its one unit what you could do is block the oil lines going to the rad. and then fill the oil and start the engine to see if the pressure stays if it stays then the rad. is bad if not then the head gasket. you could also do a compression test to see if the head gasket is gone because if its bad there will no compression either

Could be a cracked head, cracked block, or some of the other options everyone else mentioned. Also do a compression test on each cylinder. Do you have any water/oil on top of any of the pistons when you pull out the plugs?? Maybe youll luck up and it just be a gasket or something though. Wish you the best with it though man.
