Hood problems

hey guys, my hood is latched shut... but the cable snapped when i pulled the release handle. any ideas on how to get the hood open? i got a 91 chevy c/k 1500

take a screw driver, a flat head.. get in front of the grill/hood area and try to push the screwdriver on the little metal piece that has the cable in it.. its on the side and you can get to it. just have to position yourself.

if that doesnt work.. find where it broke, if you can, get a pair of visegrips on it and pull the cable, not the black coating, just the cable.

you could lay under the truck and reach up behind the grille and where the cable attaches to the latch just push it over towards the driver side and it will unlatch i have had to do this a couple times, those cables tend to break alot , i know a few people that the cable has broke or the stupid plastic handle has broken.
