how are you guys with the small block v8s running engine driven compressors? is there an existing bracket to mount a york compressor or is everyone just building there own brackets.

also, with a serpentine setup using just an alternator and water pump, would it be better to run the compressor on its own belt or with everything else.

i would run the compressor off a separate belt, YES there are brackets for YORKs, they came stock on 5.0s in some cars.

really, would you happen to know which cars came with the yorks so i can get on summit and find a nice shiny one?

Early model mustangs, 70-80something ford trucks, Mack Trucks, Older Benzes. Theres a huge list of vehicles that use those for factory A/C. Just hit AutoZone, Advanced, Oriely, or most any part store website, and search for A/C compressors for different car/truck models. They have them, and most of the time you can get a York 210 Reman for around 100.00 give or take some.
As for the bracket, make your own trust me. The ones that come in kits dont have enough mounting points, and you will do like I did and start snapping bolts all the time ( grade 8 and aircraft grade wouldnt hold ) On my duallie I ran one belt for all the factory accesories plus the York. No problems as long as you have a belt long enough, and theres enough tension on it. To get the right length belt I just used some speaker wire to run it aorund the pulleys the way it needed to go, cut it off the length you need and hit up a part store and tell them you need a belt that length. Like I said so far no problems once we altered the mounting kit to have more hold points.

I wont argue with you on that James. Your the Ford guy, I know mostly GM stuff. I was just tryin to remember what was on a list I found online one time. STill lookin for that list. It showed what vehicles came standard and which ones might have the factory options. If I find it I will post the link to it
