i was wondering if anybody knew any details about this conversion. on the trucks with hydraulic lifters that tick you can do this conversion to the older solid lifters out of a b2000 and i was just wondering what all you had to get to do the swap.

the easiest fix would be just swapping heads I would think. Otherwise if everything is supposed to just swap out remove everything and put it back in and check your clearances it should be ok I would assume you will need to use the 2000 cam as the lobe heights would all be different.

well i dont want to switch heads because the engine is a freshly rebuilt one. The head had been shaved and stuff when it was apart. then lifters started clicking after rebuild. But i know that i have to change the lifters and rocker arms. do i need the rod that holds the rocker assembly together, and do i need the cam because the lift in the 2000 and 2200 are the same lift and duration. what would be the difference?

If you do this make sure you use the same caps on top of the cam otherwise it will bind up and snap your timing gear bolt off. The caps are machined with the head so they are a matched set I changed mine out when I rebuilt my motor and before I could even set the timing is snapped the bolt on my timing gear swapped the caps out and got the broken bolt out of my cam and its been fine ever since.

The B2000 cam has more of a run up on them. It did not need it on the B2200 cause the hydro lifters took up the slack. when I done mine I used the B2200 cam and I now have a little tick that can only be fixed with the b2000 cam. Which I plan to do one day

Solid Lifter Mod

I probably need to update the page some but that should give you most of the general information.

Pont is completly right about the cam but mechanical lash adjustors by nature will always have a slight tick, it may be less with the proper cam but you will never completly get rid of it.

By the way I have my new forum up and running for Mazdatruckin, check it out and drop some posts :-D
