need audio help

i have 2 ma audio 4 ohm subs. im wanting to hook the up to a directed 600d amp. now my question is how do i hook them up to run at 1 ohm? normally i would run at 1 ohm but its the only way to get everything out of the amp. if someone could post a diagram or something it would be greatly appreciated. oh and thanks in advance

Hey Clutch you might be right in the ability to get everything out of the amp, but I dont think your going to hear much of a difference. Keep in mind that IF your amp is one ohm stable, it will still run very hot and wont be able to put out as much clean power when it is running at high temp. I would reccommend running them at a 4 ohm impedence if they are dual voice coil subs. If they are single voice coil, you have only the option of running them at a 8 or 2 ohm load. Also you can burn the amp if you hook it up at 1 ohm and it is not truely stable so reafd the specs on the amp before you do anything.

Does the amp run at 1 ohm? And are your subs single or dual voice coils? If they are single voice coil, 4 ohm subs, the best you can do is 2 ohms. If they are dual voice coil. You can get 1 ohm. Let me know.

yeah.. what he said ^^^^ If they are dual voice coil, you can wire subs in parallel for a 1 ohm amp load. But again, like he said, make sure your amp is 1 ohm stable

If you can afford another amp, I'd run an amp to each sub but with your setup now, it would still work. You could get an additional 200 watts with an extra amp though. Just FYI.

1 Dual voice coil 4 ohm sub would give you the 400 x 1 at 2 ohm times second sub/amp would give you 800 watts total.
With just one amp you would get the 600 x 1 total into the subs
