Hey, I need an overall length from tie rod end to tie rod end for a chevy colorado. I am building a custom front end for my colorado. I was just wondering becuase the setup I want to use from flaming river is 45" from end to end. I just wanna make sure its wide enough before I purchase it. thanks for any help

thanks scott, ya I have really nothing to work off of unfortunaltely. the only downfall of working from scratch. Not a huge deal, Im sure i will work around it.

it isnt the outer tie rod width that you should be concerned with. Its the inner tie rod width from center to center you should be worried about. you can always make custom adapters to adapt different tie rods to the rack. What suspension design are you using? Because the rack has to be perfectly placed so that the inner tie rod pivot centers are in line with the pivot point centers on the upr and lwr cntrl arms.

I am using a flaming river billet rack. It is a manual rack. I am building a full tube chassis, and am making customs control arms. I am also using a flaming river steering wheel and steering shaft. Trying to keep it as simple as i can.

if you already have the rack you are going to have to build the arms and their pivot points around the width of the pivots of the rack.... there is alot involved in having everything in line and working properly..... i recommend buying a few books on suspension theory and design if you havent already....
