i have the valve cover with the pcv valve on top beside the oil cap and its running vertically and looks very gaucky. I see everybody elses are running flush with the top in the horizontal position. what do these come off of?

Alot of the earlier trucks had the valve cover with the PCV valve running horizontal instead of vertical. Keep your eye open at your local pick a part yard for one. They seem to turn up fairly regularly(at least in my area) Im sure that someone on here will have one that they could offer you as well. This style of valve cover is nice when you're doing a body drop because it buys you a bit of extra clearance to the underside of the hood as well as looking better. As a side note my friend was at the wreckers searching for a cover like this earlier in the year and stumbled across a Magnum cover for his Mazda. Keep your eyes peeled, you never know what you might find. Hope this helps you out, happy hunting.

The ones that came out the side were mainly off the 86 and 87 B2000's.

The Magnum cover that my buddy found was on a remanufactured engine from overseas. Perhaps that is how they are getting over here? The seem to be few and far between, thats for sure. Perhaps someone could shed some more light on the subject, I would be curious to find out more on the subject myself.

Overseas they made a B2200 magnum which had a slightly different cylinder head. I have never seen one in person to be able to really know if there is any big difference in it but I do know that it doesn't have the EGR passageway in #1 exhaust port. Some guys I talked to who race the B2200 engines in Africa claim there are large and small port heads available over there. Realistically though unless you got lucky I would just get a JDM engine with the 12 valve head, intake, and distributor it will make more power and have a wider power band than that old 8-valve head anyways. Having the Magnum valve cover would still be pretty nice though.

Ive heard the magnum head had bigger valves, dont know though. I found one on a 86 b2000 in a junkyard got it with the valve cover for real cheap. I wish I knew what the difference was for sure too
