I recently replaced my stock 350 for a gm crate 350 in my Tahoe and added a superchips power programmer that uses 93 octane. My question is since I have been running 93 octane for 6000 miles since the engine has been installed and I put the superchips power programmer on the 87 Octane setting and start running 87 will this hurt my engine or anything like noise pinging or anything? Since gas has gone up to around $3.15 for 93 in my area I want to switch back to 87 but not unless it will not hurt the engine its not worth the few bucks a tank I will save for me to start monkeying around with the engine again.

Only $3.15 for 93? I paid $3.27 for 87 today... lol

I wouldn't think it would hurt the engine... A lot of vehicles are made to run on 87 octane... Our 8.1 liter Chevy runs on 87 octane.

wow thats alot for 87. Only reason I asked is because before I replaced the stock engine I ran 89 in it and if I ever put 87 in, it would nock like no other.
