Does anyone have a tortion style Toyota or Yota frame with a Small Block Chevy swapped into it? I'm using one of those Toyota front frame clips under a different car, and I'm trying to get a rough measurment?

I had to narrow this clip 6 inches to get it to fit. But I don't want to buy a SBC mock up unless I at least think one might work in my cramped frame you know?

Is there enough room between the UCAs and frame to bring them closer to the motor 3 inches on either side? If it would hit the headers, is it too close to the block I couldn't make custom headers to make it fit? Or maybe use a stock exh. manifold?

Here's one I seen on here, but to too close to know for sure..

Maybe?? 3 inches on both sides???

looks like the headers would have to come like straight down off the flange

Yeah everything is so cramped it's really hard to tell for sure by just looking at a picture. And I don't know what the drivers side really looks like picture angles make it hard to tell. I wonder how close it comes to the steering box in real life - if I would be able to get 3 inches inward over there too or need to try and squeeze a rack and pinion in? The only way to really know would be to stick a measuring tape in there - it's just so close... Any Billy Badasses with a V8 out there up to this measuring tape challenge? haha

See what I mean - maybe with a stock manifold or custom headers? Looks like fun..

those are block hugger headers on this one ^^^ its mine..

by the way that is a power steering gear box on mine ..a manual box will be a little smaller depending on what year it is..

Looks like aftermarket headers might be out then lol - Thanks for the tip on your box man, that changes what I'm looking at a lot. Is your steering as close at it looks in the pic?

yeah its pretty close my buddy that helped me with this build had to use two different set ups to make this one..plus the headers are way close to the control arms..one thing to mention we dropped the motor as far down as we could if you dont have to do that with what you are building that would help out alot in the space issue..

Damn.. See I'm thinking with a stock manifold like this maybe I could clear even if I had to grind some of that tit hanging off the manifold by where that front bushing would be. If I cut the lower flange off and re-angled it maybe I could get someone who can weld up cast to weld it back up tilted away from the chassis a bit.

See what I mean? (Do you know how big around your header tubes are just out of curiosity?)

-----------------------------Oh here's some that fit way closer - maybe these are factory on something?

those are not factory.... they are from a manfufacture called sanderson I belive, they make alot of Ford flat head parts, I am running Ram Horn Manifolds off of a Caprice look at my profile
