sup. i just finished shaving the tail gate handle on my 94 chevy fs. it came out perfect and the little warpage it had i fixed it with dollies and hammers.ok my questions are....

1.my tail gate is in bare metal every were inside and out do i have to prime it first or do the bondo worfk and then prime the whole thing?

2.do i run a bead of seam sealer behind the filler panel?

3.whats the best primer i can use ? i want the primer to be tan

4.what gun can i use for primer?

and do i do the putty on top of the primer.

Hope these answers help
1. do the bondo work first then prime it, bondo is designed to adhere to the metal.

2. You can run a bead of seam sealer or you can finish it smooth with bondo, it is personal choice. If you are going to smooth finish it though it needs to be welded good so that it will not flex and crack out the body filler.

3. Go to your local automotive paint supply store they will turn you on to the right primer. If it is going to be in primer for a while you may want to use a sealer under it because it can rust under the primer otherwise.

4. Any paint gun can be used for primer, your local paint supply store may have some in a rattle can however if you don't have access to a paint gun.

5. Yeah if you have pinholes or anything you can use putty on top of the primer to fill them.
