what dose the 280/A A mean and another one has 300/A A A.is that the tread life and how good the rubber is?????

the numbers are the durameter and the letter is the compound.the higher the number,the harder the rubber.
300-400 tires wont really smoke alot,just powder up. slicks are in the 100's
