Shortening a driveshaft

I have to take a few inches off my driveshaft and i was wondering if anyone has did this and if so could i get a few tips on the best way to cut it, like where is the best place to cut it and what did u use to cut it

take it to a driveshaft shop, they will be able to cut it striaght- and they will be able to balance it and all that jazz

the shop wher i live only charge like $50-$75 to do it, i would rather let them do it and not risk messin up a driveshaft
