Well here's the deal i took my truck to a shop and they cut the back of the leaf springs off . left the front leaf sprigns and added a thirebeck diffpanhard bar. with monster notch's. is this safe and does it work? do you know of anybody that has done this ?

dude that sounds dodgy as all hell!! it might work but it sure as hell doesnt sound safe! I never post on here but something like that concerns me for your safety..

so let me get this right cos i may be thinking way off here they cut ur leaf springs in half so that they are only connected to the diff bu the U-bolts and the front hanger on the chassis?

that doesnt sound good at all man--it might work but it sounds like the shop you took it to is lookin to cut corners and just slap it together...

i would just call SD and get a 4 link ot 3 link, there only like 400-500 dollars and it would be alot safer then what that shop is doing

I have seen that done before. It should all hold together fine because the pin in the leaf springs will keep the rearend located on the half leafs but I don't recommend it for a daily driver. If i were you I would make some 2-link bars and put them in the leafs springs place. That would cost the leaf and keep your setup the same. Most trucks that I have seen with this on were done to get it to a show and they were all under construction.

i remember doing that back about 10 years ago. with air shocks. lol wow thanks for bringin back memories.. i wont say its safe, there are way better ways to do it. the axle will wrap up on accelerate and decelerate, youll get wheel hop like crazy if you spin your tires, and handling sucks, like you can lose control if you "lose" control. being that i have actually done that, i know first hand, get it fixed right, and id seriously ask the shop you had it done at, why they did it, maybe they dont know any better. sometimes if you go to taco bell for a hamburger, you dont really know what your going to get..
