ok i need some more help with my z, what did yall do with the fuel lines on the driver side when you cut the frame. Did you completely take them off or did you just loosen them to get them out of the way. Also what does the inside of your frame look like where you z'd it. Did ya'll plate that too or just the out side, cause i know its hard as hell to get inside that frame. I just wanna make sure i do this right the first time. Now ive already made my marks on the frame 2in apart. Did yall cut yours while it was on the ground or did you have it on stands and just use a jack to lift up the section you cut. I know this is a lot of questions but i like to know all that i can before i cut. Dont want to get into it and realize i messed up. If there are any tricks or suprise that anyone might know i would appreciate it if someone could help me. And if anyone has like a few diff pictures maybe of like cutting your frame or pics of what you did anything would help THANKS!!!!!

I did my Z with the truck up in the air so I could get under it. I also plated both the inside and the outside ofthe frame rails. I reomed the fuel line out of my way then ran new ones when I was done.

Did yall pull anything else like motor or tranny. Did you just loosen the tranny bolts to allow it to move with the frame? Cause I just loosened them and had planned on just letting it move up with the frame. Anything anyone can think of that i havnt mentioned yet. I plan on using a sawsall and a grinder, im guessing not too many people have a plasma torch laying around to use. and does anyone have any pics of there completed z like how they braced it and the welds and what not. THANKS any advice and input is appreciated...

well i dunno if this is too late but i am in the middle of z'ing my 99 ranger. and on fuel lines i just un bolted them and used a ratchet strap around the tranny to hold them clear of the frame and heat. i cut my floor for my tranny but it actually clears but it was helpful any way. i originally didn't move the tranny up, i just unbolted it and it didn't work so well. i found that if you put the truck on stands at the body mont up front (behind c arm) and made all four cuts you could use a jack under the engine cradle, but you need a second jack for the trans. if not you will get the tranny lowering as you jack up. i did mine by myself two or more people would have been nice. also advice for you i would weld a piece of 1x1 or something between the front frame hornsso it will hold them square. make sure you have c arms and all other stuff off it will make it much easier to move around. also make sure the truck is level and all your cuts are perfect. ifyour cuts are crooked it will shift the motor forward or back. also i did not plate the inside of the frame. i didn't have any kind of room (with motor still in there) i did gusset tops and bottoms and plated the outside, and welded the gap on the inside. beefy is always better, but i am on a deadline and i am gonna pull the motor later to plate it all. um other than that dont forget you need to make a new crossmember under the back of the cab (std cab) because the drive shaft will hit. atleast mine does. other than that it is a lot of work. more than i realized. but it is sweet as hell. all the wiring sucks though to relocate fuse box and harness's. good luck.
