i just got a 78 f150 and i needed to know if i cut the front coils and swap the rearend about the springs if that will drop about 4/5 front/rear? or do i need to mod. the i beams? any help and pics would be nice

if you just cut the coils in the front you will have camber, when the top of the tires lean in and you're tires will wear the inside out quick. the best way is to get dropped i-beams. as for the rear you can do a flip kit.

i know about camber but i didnt know if it was to much to correct with a alainment. as far as the rear i know about cutting the perch and relocating to top after i check the degrees and setting appropiatly.

due they even offer i beams for that year truck? i plan on bagging it later down the road after i finish my s-10

if you want to go 4" in the front by cutting coils, i doubt that will adjust out with an alignment. they make 3" drop i-beams and then you can cut coils to get it a little lower.

does anyone have a set of i-beams that will fit for cheap or has anyone ever cut and modified them themselves?

73-79 ford trucks used I beams, drop beams are INSANELY expensive IMO, least for what they do. I would find an old school shop, preferrably a hot rod shop and have them bend your stock beams. Cut the coils like you want and have the bend the beams to fix the camber. Camber isn't "adjustable" on these trucks. For the rear, I believe you can get 2 or 3 inches just from flipping the front leaf hanger. You do a semi-flip (using the two upper holes, as lowers) or a full flip and just measure it all out. Head over to fordification.com and search "hanger flip" and it should bring it up. If not, ask, everyone is very helpful there.
