In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon over night. If everyone did this the Middle Eastern oil industry will losse almost $3 billon. I hope with your support we can do something again. thanks scuba

i think we should just say fuck gas alltogether and go back to horse and buggy days. It's rather strange that it went down from over $3.00 to under $2.00 in no time and now it's right back over $3.00 again. They are saying that we are short on gas right now. Maybe I'm just ignorant went it comes to stuff like this but how the fuck did they not know we were short on gas when it dropped to under $2.00 a gallon. And now the government is trying to get farmers to grow corn. At least the government could at least give us some free oil to use on our ass before they stick it in

This gas thing was a big issue for me, I had to get rid of my Xtreme and buy a Sentra. Hope is not all lost I just got a lowrider bike to keep me busy until my next big project.

everyone fill up on the 12th or 13th and not buy for 3 full days and lets see how that works.

i think the gas companies can charge whatever they want for gas, that's what free enterprise is all about. and you can profit too by buying stocks in these companies. yeah, gas prices are expensive but i'm going to have limit my spending elsewhere. i hope my tank is empty that day, just to piss others off, haha.

Wasn't there something similar last year or the previous?

This kind of thing only works if people don't drive at all that day, just not getting gas that day doesn't do shit if everyone still uses the gas they have. The idea behind it is to cut out as much fuel usage that day as possible. One day is not a good idea because people will just fill up the day before, if the media got involved and promoted a "gas out week" I think it would work alot better because people decitated to it would be much more likely to walk, ride a bike or bus at least once that week to avoid buying gas. No matter what we are WAY to dependint on oil.

Anyone watch that race to the moon show on Discovery last night? Somthing about heleium 3 being used as fuel. Sounds expensive to me.

it makes absolutely no sense to boycott gas for a day. everyone is going to fill up the day before or after, so no profit is lost for them. you are still using the same amount of gas. the only way shit is going to get changed is if you do something about it. bitching and whining to friends about it is not going to change anything. if everyone in this country came together and said something about it to a senator or whatever, you stand a better chance.

oh and you know gas companies are going to get wind of the whole boycott thing and lower gas prices to 2.00 a gallon for that day
