Shaving 07 Altima Tail Lights?

I'm thinking about getting the new altima, but the tail lights would be the first thing that would definitely have to be shaved, because they are ugly in my opinion. The problem is the shape of them and could they actually be shaved? I appreciate any one that can help me out here. Mike
