i am trying to install my shaved door kit finally and can't find a place in the door to allow me to mount the solenoid and still be able to roll the window down without it hitting the glass. other than the very bottom and i don't want to do that cause i don't want it getting extremely wet when it rains. anybody have any pics of where you got yours mounted?

oh, and this is on my 89 not the 83.

I managed to stuff mine in my fullsize right by the handle, and made it pull on the handle, so that it was still functional inside as well

as for a mini, that could be tough, i've seen them mounted vertically right by the door jamb on some trucks

i made a bracket that bolts on between the door and the glass run channel at the bottom of the door that way i didnt have to drill anything and it lines up perfectly with the latch assembly its worked fine since i did it back it 98 or 99

on mazdas the best place is very low in the door. alsmot where the door jamb starts "curving" to meet the bottom jamb. you pull the door seal off, and drill the 2 holes behind the seal, that way when the popper is mounted you dont see it at all, beacuse the bolts are hidden behind the seal. then you take the cable and go straight up to the latch. i take the return spring out of the latch, and the return spring in the inside door handle, removing these springs makes your door open really easy, and there is no resistance for the popper. if you need more info just ask, or email me james@ifitsgotwheels.com

hey james, we are putting the Autoloc 35lb kit in my girls mazda and i couldnt make it fit anywhere in the door to where the cable would clear the glass. The solonoid was to big and put the cable on the outside of the glass at the bottom, but the latch is on the inside of the glass. Im looking at mounting the solonoid inside the cab but I really dont want to, do you have any more advice?

Don't know if this will help but on my dodge I couldn't find a place either. So I put a pulley at the lower rear corner of the door right below the latch. Then I mounted the soleniod on the lowest part of the door and ran the wire through the pulley to the outside latch. I wouldn't connect it to the inside handle because of the spring on the inside handle. It takes more power to pop the doors, thus wears out the solenoids faster. Connect to the part of the latch that the outside door handle was connected to. Then you can keep your inside door handles no problem. That's how's its been done on my truck for a year and half with no problems.

Its a really bad picture to tell but a Big AutoLoc Solenoid in 87 Mazda shows the angle and how far down you need to be to fully open window . http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/303/1001498jd9.jpg
