302 in a b2000... help?

so we are in the middle of droppin a 302 into my 1984 b-2000, so far it's been going good and we thought everything was going to work but now we are running into some clearence problems with the starter and the frame... if anyone has done this swap or knows anything about it please help!

i am going to do the same swap in my 83. i have heard that the ford couriers do the swap all the time and they have the same frame. i don't know of any courier forums but i would check it out. when i get to that point i will have to research it more as well. what kind of tranny and rearend are you dropping in it?

dont know why yours want fit, i have seen a lot of courier's with 302's

Im doing this swap too !!!! and from what i can tell , is , that the model before shares the same chassis and there use to be a kit for this swap available through Hooker Headers , but not anymore , but if you want to know more go over to http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/index.php?mforum=fcc

if its a stock starter, you may need a hi-po starter. The stock ones are huge.

I did that swap in my 88 b2200 and I don't remember any starter clearance problems.

i do have a ministarter but the bottom where it hooks to the tranny was the problem

we notched the frame out so the motor could sit lower like i wanted it... we could have sat it up higher and redo the entire firewall and tranmission tunnel but i like it lower

I had a look at your pic's but i'll have to do it another way because my truck is right hand drive and my steering box mounts on the frame were you notched it,i might have to find a rack and pinion swap for it.....im going to trim a bit of the side of the c4 (it only needs to be 20mm)and see how i go.......

hey man, if you want to trade your right hand drive stuff for left hand drive stuff, hit me up. don't know how much shipping would be but i am down!

Try www.fordcouriercollector.com I know the guy that started the site is puting a 302 in his courier and has step of him doing but its like a 76 tho
