Get a shorter bolt. Or run it the opposite direction, with the head of the bolt pointign at the ground, instead of behing inside the cab.

wtf? why use bushings? You will just have to lower all of your mounts that much more! You really think a little busing between the body and the frame is going o help make the truck ride better? You will esp feel it with some nice 35 series tires on those 20's- or yeah- definately worth it. It won't make one bit of difference. Just go metal to metal, and make life easier.

Are you for real?

Prepare to have stuff crack and everything.

The bushings let your body flex a little and absorb some impact. Metal to metal sounds like a gong show to me. Have fun with that though.

Yes I'm for real. How do you think a unibody car is put together? The suspension components are mounted right to the same metal the body is mounted to. I've got my truck built without bushings, and it's just fine/ I have experienced no cracking, creaking, noises, or vibrations of any kind. I'm having fun with it too thank you

Body mounts are there for a reason. Use Them.

There's no reason you need to use a mazda specific mount if you are doing a SFBD though. the S10 ones from energy suspension are nice to work with and easy to find. They also sell universal ones.

iv actually heard some hotrod guys talk about drillin and slicing hockey pucks for body mounts?

wouldn't the mounts from jeep tj's work as well, its just a small poly puck with the hole.

hmmm last I checked there is still bushings used... my RX7 IRS has bushings in it... weird eh. it bolts to the body thru the bushings.

They are there for a reason. Im using s10 energy susp. in mine, easy to make them work and they weren't all that expensive.

hmm.. I don't think every manufacured vehicle with a frame would have body mount bushings if they served no purpose.. I'm definatly with corey

Hah..I've got a better quesion, how do YOU think they're put together? They dont have body mounts because there is no body to mount to the frame. The body IS the structural member, and any stress and flex points are engineered into the floor pan and pilar design. Any vibration points (motor, suspenion components, k-members) are mechanically isolated from the body with the use of...yup, that's right BUSHINGS. Go tear a unibody apart and see what's up..you can't compare a unibody to a body on frame set up at all...
