How do I replace it? Not sure exactly what transmission(or if it's even in the transmission) I have, but I have a v6, and the stock transmission that came with it. I got an error code when i hooked up the computer to it, said it was a shift solenoid electrical bad. When i go down the highway(take this morning for example) I had it floored all the way to work and it never went faster than 60mph, and sometimes dipped down to like 55mph.

Any help will be good, this is my daily driver and I got a good job and don't want to loose it because my stupid truck can't make it to work! Thank god it's friday and I'm already at work haha.

Ok, with the V6 if you have an automatic it's probably the 4L60E tranny. The shift solenoids are inside the transmission, accessible through the tranny pan.

When replacing them, its a good idea to go ahead and replace both (theres an "A" and a "B" solenoid) since they are very inexpensive.

I can't remember what they look like off the top of my head so when you remove the tranny pan just look for the 2 modules that resemble the new parts

How hard is it to do? I just replaced the gaskets to my exhaust manifold and man I'm done working on my truck for a while, but it's starting to sound easy from what you said.

Loosen all the bolts equally around the tranny pan except for the forward edge. The pan will start to tilt down from the weight of the fluid. Make sure you have a catch bucket or something underneath and let the tranny fluid flow out of the pan. Start loosening the front bolts and the pan will drop more, draining more fluid.

When you get nearly all the fluid drained out, then you can take out the front bolts and set the pan aside. The shift solenoids should be right in front of you...little modules with wires attached to them. They are fairly easy to figure out on how to remove them.

Cool thanks a lot for the info. Sounds real easy, just real messy too.

yup, easy as cake and just as messy as changing the tranny fluid. Its about time for a fluid change you should just kill 2 birds with one stone and change the fluid, filter and solenoids at once

Yup. I got another problem, something about the fuel pressure level or something, that's the only other code, then my check engine light will go off!
